      <image:title>EMDR Intensives - EMDR Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidenced-based therapy that helps people recover from traumatic or distressing experiences. EMDR can be used to treat: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), anxiety, panic attacks, depression, phobias, complicated or traumatic grief, vicarious trauma, flashbacks, nightmares, addictive behaviors, and emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. EMDR can be used regardless of when the experience occurred (many years ago, or just recently), and it can also be used if the experience is ongoing. In an EMDR therapy session, I will guide you bring up the experience in your mind and body while simultaneously engaging in eye movement or other bilateral stimulation, such as tapping, to reduce the vividness and disturbance associated with the traumatic memory. Throughout the entire process, there will be a great focus on your feelings of safety and maintaining connection to the present moment while reprocessing the past. The EMDR International Association’s website is a great resource to learn more, including further information about experiencing EMDR therapy. EMDR Intensives An EMDR intensive may be a good fit for you if you want to process your experience in a more condensed time frame. Intensives are individualized to the needs of each client and the specific experience you want to work through. Intensives can last 3-4 hours or 1-2 days. The cost for 1-day of an EMDR intensive is $900 (6 hours of therapy, multiple breaks, and time for lunch). I do not take insurance for EMDR intensives. If you would like to consider EMDR therapy or EMDR intensives, please schedule a free consultation with me so that together we can determine if either of these options are a good fit for you.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Ecotherapy - Ecotherapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Ecotherapy is an approach to therapy that is “nature-based,” utilizing the land around us to promote our mental health and wellbeing. Connection with the outdoors is good for us, both physically and emotionally. In therapy, this might look like engaging in therapy sessions outdoors, or using ecotherapy principles in indoor or virtual therapy sessions. Ecotherapy also entails a reciprocal relationship with the land. We recognize that we are intimately connected to the outdoors; we are nature. Caring for the earth is ultimately caring for ourselves and our community. Ecotherapy might be a good fit for you if you have concern or worry about climate change and the future, have experienced a natural disaster, experience eco-grief or eco-anxiety, or simply want to engage in therapy sessions outdoors. As a member of Michigan Clinicians for Climate Action, I am working to understand the health and mental health impacts of climate change and engage in behaviors that cultivate a climate in which the health and well-being of all people can thrive.</image:caption>
